Phone Calls - Just a Reminder

Certain times of the year I just get bombarded with phone calls and it's hard to keep up. I do my best to get back to people, but it gets hard. So I thought I would write this for those who follow my blog so you know when we will be contacting you for information.

The Wedding - We do weddings every week so it makes it easier on us if we stick to this week's weddings and give them our full attention, instead of thinking about weddings that are 3 or 4 weeks away. You will hear from me the Monday or Tuesday before your wedding. That is when we will cover the details and times and locations. We also need a few details from your photographer and DJ so we prefer to be the last professional you talk to.

After The Wedding - The first thing we do is capture your video to a hard drive and store the master tapes for safe keeping. Because of the way we edit the only thing we need from you is a song selection for The Prologue. If you have not heard from us that means we aren't ready to work on your video yet. Delivery times for videos is not an exact science so I prefer not to give estimated delivery dates because I don't want to give you a date, miss it, and then be upset. KSV is a sole proprietorship so things in my personal life can affect delivery time. This applies to your photographer as well.

Post Production - Once I get your song selection the video is sent to one of our talents editor for rough cutting. Then it comes back to me for what is known as the final cut. This is where we clean up any mistakes and adjust the coloring of the footage. This can take a while depending on what part of the season we are in. The next time you will hear from me is when the video is ready to be shipped.

So this is how our communications work. The goal is to educate our clients about the process of making a wedding video. It's very different from that of a DJ or photographer. We hope that keeping our clients informed will make the process go much quicker and smother for everybody.

AC/DC part 2, The Concert

Last night AC/DC played the Wachovia Center for the first time in 8 years. Unfortunately due to the ticketing system they now have in place through Comcast we sat on the side of the arena in the very last row. And I was online exactly when tickets went on sale so I have no idea why my "random draw" kept coming up with nothing but 2nd level tickets. This is the furthest I have ever sat from my favorite band. But we had a good time just the same.

And when I say we, I mean me and my sons. Yes, I took a 6 and 8 year old to a rock concert, and no, I am not just trying to be one of those cool parents. I won't be having beer parties for them when they are 16 just to keep them from driving drunk. They are very much into AC/DC and some other rock bands thanks to video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Andrew and I had seen Iron Maiden and Judas Priest this summer. This was Dan's first concert ever.

And what  first concert it was. The band opened with their new smash single Rock 'N' Roll Train and played another four songs off their best selling CD, Black Ice. They also didn't disappoint by playing all their classics - Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), among many more. They played an hour and forty minutes, which is actually 20 minutes shorter than normal, but they are getting a bit older.

But despite their ages they rocked out hard than most bands half their age. Angus is the youngest at 53 and Brian, the singer, is the oldest at 61. But they showed no signs of slowing down. Brian prowled the stage, slapping hands with the crowd and egging them on to sing along. Angus did his typical non-stop head banging and foot-tapping with the occasional interruption by a duck walk. And at no point during the concert did the band have any kind of rest period. It was pure rock 'n' roll from start to finish.

Ok, ok, my first lesson at the time.

I tried to do this.. so, I didn't use tabs, YET, I'm thinking in upload more guitar lesson with tabs, and will doing my lessons with the songs that the people talk to me do. Like High Voltage was proposed bby TheGuitarMan, and here it is !

I teached the rhyhtm (Malcolm) and lead (Angus), to teach I just played slowly, I think it's clearly to you learn the song. I did a cover in the begging of the lesson, then I teach, the cover is for you have an ideia how the song is played, ok ?

It's a big process a lesson video, so, I'll take a time for every lesson because I'll do with tabs too, so I have to edit, and put the tabs (what is a lot complicated), and etc..

How Stupid Was This Couple?

By now we've all seen the "JK Wedding Entrance Dance" on YouTube. It's been viewed over 21 million times so far. Some think it was great and some think it was inappropriate for a church. I say this couple was just flat out stupid. Why?

Imagine planning this very unique and fun way to start your wedding and then not hiring a professional to capture it. All they have is the crappy handheld footage from one of the guests. What a shame. Those of you have seen our videos know how much better this would have been had it been filmed in HD with 3 cameras to catch all the action.

What a shame to go to all this trouble to make your wedding different and then not have it filmed properly. Hell, the person didn't even know how to encode it properly. Notice how it's all stretched out.

The Encore Bride Style File Winter Glamour

With Thanksgiving out of the way we can now concentrate on the next big event, Christmas! As soon as I came home from the Thanksgiving trip to visit Mr. E (which was great by the way) I focused on getting my Christmas decorations in place to decorate my home. Besides decorating for Christmas I've been thinking of all the beautiful decorations for the season and it is only fitting that I put together a Winter Glamour "mood board" (that is what they are called in the design world-as in the mood I want to convey in a collection).

As promised, I've been looking for inspiration in other "non-wedding" websites and blogs. The inspiration for this board was initiated by the living room picture at the top right from Elle Decor blog. The mood is opulent, glamorous and everything "bling". If you are on a tight budget you can consider a smaller guest list in order to go all out on the setting.
