Sushi

I miss you dearly but I work almost 12+hrs a day, there's has been no time to plan a wedding, sketch, catch up with all of my blogs, tweet or stay in touch with you guys. Everyday here seems to run into each other, sometimes I look up and a week has gone by (which is great). I work all day, take half a day off once a week and we take it easy on Sundays.

It's amazing the things you miss when you are away like this, like...my Mom, although I moved away from home 12 years ago I've missed her so much since I've been here. She's had a rough last few months but if you see here you would never be able to tell.

I miss colors, flowers, fabric, sewing, quilts, SUSHI, OMG how I miss good regular food. I am not complaining by any means, we have a very good dining facility and I've eaten lobster and crab legs much more often than any time I've been at home. There are some things you can't help but miss though...Mr. E's homemade biscuits, or one of his great steaks or his Greek spaghetti mmmmm. Guess who'll be doing most of the cooking once we get home?

Speaking of which, Mr. E is doing great, working long hours and learning so much about the finance industry, not bad for a guy that used to hang around tanks! We are both so glad to be fortunate to be here with each other and we thank God every day but we can't wait to come home!

In the meantime we'll keep working from sun up to sun down, that always makes the time go by faster!

Concert of one of my favorite bands.

por | | 0 comments

This Friday night I am going to see one of my favorite bands of all time, Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers. I haven't been able to see them the last two times they came to town because I had weddings to film. They aren't a huge national act so their tours get booked only a few months in advanced, while my wedding videos can sometimes get booked up to two years in advance.

you may not know this band by this name but most people recognize them by their former name, The Refreshments. They had a big hit back in 1995 with a song called Banditos, and are well know for recording the theme some to the King of the Hill TV show. Since their major label dropped them after their second Cd didn't sell very well (mainly because it wasn't promoted very well), they have gone on to become one of the most popular indie bands in the country.

Their southwestern style of rock is in the vain of the Eagles and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Their songs are often flavored with lyrics and images of Mexico, Tequila, and having good times with good friends. Even going to a concert there are many fans who come from all over the country to see them.

Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers are appearing live at World cafe Live this friday night. tickets can be purchased here - World Cafe Live.

The bands website is here - Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers.

The Encore Bride Style File-Nantucket Elopement

Isn't this a beautiful elopement? The couple came from China via London to elope in Nantucket. Zophia Photography captured these beautiful images of the occasion. I love how much thought, care and love the couple put into planning this event. No one said you couldn't have a beautiful unforgettable, planned elopement?

Unfortunately many blogs don't feature many elopements but we should see more of them. Eloping allows you to focus on the most important aspect of a wedding, the act of promising to commit yourself to the person you love and plan to spend the rest of your life with. Don't you think?

Mmmm! Cake!

por | | 0 comments
I was at my favorite bakery in Orange County this weekend, Beverly's Best in Brea. We were celebrating a good friends birthday...and every birthday deserves a cake from Beverly's! They had a couple of new mock wedding cakes and I totally fell in love with this one:

Two of my favorite colors for weddings and my favorite wedding flower, the white and black anemone! This size cake would feed about 200 people! Isn't it beautiful?
