I was 12 years old and the Phillies had defeated the Kansas City Royals to win their first, and still only, world championship. They have been to the World Series two times since. The forgettable appearance in 1983, which saw them lose pitifully to the Baltimore Orioles and then the unforgettable appearance in 1993 with one of the most loved teams in Philadelphia history.

So here we are 15 years later and the Phillies are back in the World Series. All the names and faces are different, but this team has a winning feeling like the '80's team.
