We have worked with some of the best wedding professionals in the Philadelphia area. We will work with a great DJ here or a great photographer there. But Samantha and Nate put together an all-star line-up of professionals. Every person Sam hired does extraordinary work and are people that I am not only proud to recommend, by I am proud to call friends in the industry.
When Samantha hired me back in January of '08 one the first conversations we had was with regards to her photographer. The company she hired had more of a traditional style, with the emphasis on posed shots and less photojournalistic. She asked for my opinion and I told her it would be better to lose her deposit and get somebody else who she'll be happy with instead of sticking with the original company and regretting her decision forever. A wedding is a special day and it needs a special person to capture it. I gave Sam a few names of people I respect and she chose Jenn Childress. Jenn brought a long Pete Malone from 217 Photo to be her second shooter. You can see some of Sam and Nates pics on Jenn's Facebook Page. All I can say is WOW!
And what would be great pictures without great flowers? As you can tell from the shots that Jenn took, Sam had a gorgeous bouquet composed of flowers with various shades of pink. Unfortunately I'm not a horticulturist so I have no idea what various kinds of flowers were in there. If you want your flowers to look as great as Sam's you'll have to call Marie Huss from Flower Sculpture in Paoli, PA.
For an officiant she used Marguerite Sexton, owner of Journeys of the Heart. Marguerite put together a very meaningful and spiritual ceremony that was not only very moving, but also a bit humorous as she told a couple stories of Same and Nate's first few dates.
Anybody who knows me knows that I am huge fan of DJ's Available. You'll frequently see the names Mike Petretti, Terry O, DJ Bishop, Pete Palmer and Paul Cole in my blog posts. Sam used Paul and he kept a great flow to the night and kept the dance floor packed right up until the last song.
When it came to the cake cutting Nate played nice, but Sam didn't. She smashed cake on Nate, apparently forgetting the tradition of kissing each other immediately afterwards, which is when Nate smeared the cake off his face and onto Sam's. This makes for great video. What makes for even better video is when your bride still looks gorgeous after smashing the cake. And staying gorgeous just comes naturally to Emily at Cheekadee Makeup Artist. When you watch our video below you can see how Sam looked before makeup and how wonderful she looked after Emily worked her magic.
Speaking of food, Sam and her girls was a wonderful spread setup in her hotel room for everyone to snack on. I had a pretzel and some fruit and it was great. There was no card so I'm not sure what company to credit.
And then to put the whole thing together and make sure all the professionals are on the same page Sam went with Erin Proud as her planner. Erin's company Proud to Plan is one of the leading companies in the Philadelphia area for wedding and event coordination. Yesterday's wedding went off without a hitch, except for a strong wind that blew over some flowers and wine. Having a wedding planner like Erin makes everything go smooth.
Hmmmm...let's see. Am I forgetting anybody? No. I think that's it.
Oh, wait....we were there. Me, Jimmy and Lynn filmed the wedding and Jimmy turned in what could be his finest edit to date. For the reception my sister, Cindy, was in the area so she stopped by to help film some of the formal events - for free! How cool is she that she'll just stop by a wedding and help just because she loves making wedding videos?
Okay, if you read through this whole thing, God bless ya. I know it was a long one, but I just had to give props to all wonderful wedding friends for the great job they did. I think this is the beginning of our best wedding season ever. I hope to see all my friends many more times as the year progresses. Thanks and please enjoy The B.I.G. Video Show of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Trimmer.
